Welcome to the 2009 Inaugural Newcastle 5K Run/Walk!

Enjoy a summer run with family and friends through Newcastle's beautiful parks and scenic byways.

This scenic, gently rolling 3.1 mile course mostly follows the old railroad grade of the former Seattle & Walla Walla line. The 5K run/walk will start and finish in Lake Boren Park. The route is on a mix of wide trails and paved roads. Over half the route is in beautiful May Creek and Lake Boren Parks. After the run, enjoy the wonderful food, drinks and services from our event sponsors.

Registration
General Registration: June 1 - August 28 (noon) $25 individual / $20 ea. team of 4
Race Day Registration: August 29 (before 8:00 am) $30 individual / $25 ea. team of 4

In-Store Registration:
Register at FootZone stores in Issaquah, Bellevue or Redmond through Thursday, August 27th.
Online Registration:
Register online at www.active.com. Online registration closes at noon on Friday, August 28th.
Register by Mail:
Registration form and payment must be postmarked by Saturday, August 22. Register using the entry form
Register in Person:
Race Day registration is available at Lake Boren Park from 7 am - 8:00 am on August 29th.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
The event will start in Lake Boren Park and head slightly uphill and south onto a wide trail. The trail intersects with
SE 89th Place where it turns west, adjacent to May Creek Park, following the road as it meanders to a hairpin curve
(at 124th Ave SE). From here it enters May Creek Park and follows a trail through the woods until it intersects again
with SE 89th Place and follows the original trail back to Lake Boren Park.

RESULTS
Medals will be awarded to the Top 3 Women finishers and Top 3 Men finishers in each of the following categories:

60 & Over

Unofficial results will be posted near the finish line. Official results will be published here.

PACKET PICK-UP AND 5K RUN DAY
Bid numbers and packets will be available for pickup on the Newcastle 5K Run Day, August 29, from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
The 5K run will start promptly at 9 a.m. The course will close at 10 a.m. Post-event festivities will be held from event
finish until noon.
